The OLYMPIC TORCH and it's underwater journey

The Olympic Torch made it's historical journey underwater for the first time ever during the lead up to the Sydney Olympics, year 2000.  The location was at Agincourt Reef, part of the Great Barrier Reef, off the coast of Port Douglas, Cairns, Australia.  Terry constructed the housing and lighting for this prestigious event.  The housing was made for the Canon XL1.  Terry and his brother and good friend worked together to plan the route for the torch, ensuring best reef coverage in the limited amount of time.  Terry did the filming himself and was extremely proud to see his footage beamed across the world on all channels.

Underwater footage in-flight and on the screen

Terry's footage, shot through his housings, is currently being used on the Qantas in-flight promotional video on far North Queensland.  He has also provided much footage for the local Chanel 9WIN News segment for the "Reef Report", a segment covering educational statistics and stories on the reef, with visibility reports for the weekend.

"Quicksilver Connections is the Great Barrier Reef"

Terry supplies all of the housings for use by the videographers on board Quicksilver Connections. Quicksilver Connections is the premier tour operator to the Outer Barrier Reef, based in Port Douglas.  Terry is one the videographers and his housings are used 365 days a year, year in year out.  All in all his daily life keeps him in touch with the latest equipment and the underwater world, essential to his understanding of his clients' requirements.
